With special doodle, Google will pay birthday tributes to Otto Wichterle, inventor of contact lens

Google on Wednesday paid tributes with a special doodle to Czech chemist Otto Wichterle, who is regarded to have invented the present day tender contact lens now used by way of an estimated a hundred and forty million human beings round the world for their eyesight needs.  Today, i.e.  October 27, marks Wichterle's 108th delivery anniversary, an event which known as for the doodle that, in accordance to Google, would enlighten netizens with sparkling perception on the scientist, regardless of whether or not they themselves are contact lens users.

In 1961 , Wichterle , who wore spectacles himself , produced the very first smooth contact lenses with a DIY equipment made of a kid's erector set, a bicycle mild battery, a phonograph motor, and home made glass tubing and moulds.  This used to be the earliest model of the modern-day contact lenses that are now used.
