  Dhanteras:- It happens on Teras and it is believed that buying some new items on this day will bless Lakshmi ji, so on this day it is customary to buy new utensils, jewelry. It is believed that buying goods on this day would increase manifold.  On this day Lord Dhanvantari ji had appeared from the churning of the ocean with nectar and medicines, who is considered to be the originator of Ayurveda.  Diyas are lit.
